3 star status for Gateshead Housing Company

North-East based, non-profit organisation The Gateshead Housing Company (TGHC) are responsible for the day-to-day management of over 21,000 homes.

TGHC work in partnership with residents and the wider local community.

Their mission statement is simple: To provide excellent and efficient services. To create homes and neighbourhoods that meet the aspirations of the people of Gateshead.

TGHC Director of Finance and Corporate Services, Jon Mallen-Beadle, initially sourced VB Solutions to assist in the development of their Value for Money and Procurement strategy, “Like many organisations we wanted to ensure that we were getting maximum value for money from our Decent Homes investment programme”.

“Having considered what other consultants could offer, I felt confident that the approach and experience that Value Based Solutions offered would give us the best results.”

He added, “18 months later, what has been achieved has been very impressive. We found their approach to be very thorough. They have delivered us significant savings. Furthermore, their work has contributed positively to our newly acquired 3 star status.”

Jon Mallen-Beadle was particularly impressed with VBS’s approach to VFM, Procurement and Efficiency, “Throughout the project their team demonstrated high degrees of competency and professionalism.”

“I have seen many consulting firms that claim to be experts in VFM and Procurement, but the approach, skills and experience that these guys have is the best I have seen to date.”
